Google converting tracked changes to suggested edits between Word and Docs

Google recently launched Suggested Edits allowing you to make changes which can be accepted or not by the owner of a document. This feature compares nicely to the tracked changes feature in Word (remember Word, that word processor people used to use before Google Docs? 🙂 )

Late last week Google announced that any tracked changes in a Word document converted to Docs would have those tracked changes converted to Suggested Edits. It’s a nice feature and will certainly make it easier for cross platform teams to function nicely together.

A recap about Suggested Edits

Suggested edits in Docs allow people to make changes to a document in the normal way. The owner of the document can then approve or reject the change  from the comment box. It’s perfect for team leaders and project leads.

Tracked changes in Word now get converted to Suggested Edits seamlessly.
