Inbox by Gmail is an alternative email client for Google Apps and Gmail that aims to make it simpler to tidy up your inbox and get things done. If you’ve tried enabling it on your device using a Google Apps account then you’ve probably seen the “computer says no” screen telling you that it needs to be enabled.
Here’s a quick breakdown of what you’ll need to do to enable it for your organisation. You’ll need to take in to account changes with how Inbox by Gmail handles emails if you use Google Vault to archive your email, particularly in relation to labels and bundles – the name given to organisational groupings of emails with Inbox by Gmail. It would have been nice if any Beta released by Google was handled nicely with the other apps and services that Google provides, but you can’t have it all.
